Our Core Privacy Principle:
VialCalc is engineered as a 100% local-first, offline application. We have zero user accounts, zero forced cloud registrations, and zero servers storing your calculations. All reconstitution ratios, reverse dilution solvers, multi-compound blends, and vial inventory logs remain exclusively on your device sandbox.
Safe-Harbor Research & Non-Medical Classification:
VialCalc is a mathematical laboratory reconstitution and graduated scale alignment calculator designed for researchers, laboratory technicians, and educational calculation workflows. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or clinical dosing instructions. It does not connect to medical hardware or transmit health records.
1. Data Collection & Permissions
VialCalc operates without requesting sensitive device permissions:
- Zero Account Tracking: You are never asked to enter an email, password, phone number, or create an identity.
- Zero Location Tracking: The application does not request, poll, or record GPS or location telemetry.
- Zero Health / Biometric Data: VialCalc does not integrate with Apple HealthKit, Google Fit, or clinical records.
- Local Sandbox Storage: Saved calculation recipes, custom compound presets, and stability vault countdowns are written directly to your mobile operating system's private sandboxed app directory (`SharedPreferences` / encrypted key-value store).
2. Laboratory Calculation Engine & On-Device Processing
All 4 calculation algorithms (Ratio Calculator, Reverse Diluent Solver, Dual Compound Blend, and Lab Unit Converter) execute 100% on-device in Dart runtime without network dependency. Calculations are performed instantly and discarded or stored locally at your discretion.
3. Offline Encrypted Backup & Protocol Export
VialCalc provides privacy-preserving export options:
- Clipboard Protocol Export: Formats calculation summaries into plaintext for your laboratory notebook. This data is only written to your clipboard when explicitly tapped.
- Local Encrypted Backup: Full calculation logs and vial inventories can be exported as an encrypted `.vialcalc` payload. The backup is encrypted using AES-GCM decryption with PBKDF2 key derivation. We never receive or store your backup files.
4. Anonymous Telemetry & Crash Reporting
VialCalc does not display third-party advertisements or sell user data. To ensure application stability and monitor fatal crashes across device form-factors, minimal technical diagnostics may be transmitted to our self-hosted SignalCore infrastructure (e.g. fatal exception stack traces, OS version, device architecture). These reports contain zero personally identifiable information (PII), zero calculation parameters, and zero protocol notes.
5. In-App Purchases & Billing
Optional lifetime pro unlock transactions are processed directly by Apple through StoreKit via the Apple App Store. VialCalc does not receive, process, or store credit card numbers, billing addresses, or banking details.
6. Children’s Privacy
VialCalc is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13, adhering to COPPA and global privacy regulations.
